Lots of people are shopping early this year. According to Google Trends, searches for “personalized christmas gift ideas” rose 110% over the 30 days to 30 October 2026. “Personalized christmas gift tags” rose 120% and “personalized gift wrapping paper” rose 100% over the same period.

For dad: a leather dopp kit
He’ll use it on every trip and every weekend away, and his initials stay on the leather the whole time. A men’s dopp kit is practical, and it gets better looking as it ages.
For your partner: a journal with a date on it
Use the day you met, or “Our first Christmas”. A personalised leather journal is a good place to keep the year’s tickets, notes and photos. It also works well as an anniversary gift.
For the writer: a refillable notebook

These are the USPS recommended dates, which were announced around 22 September 2026 (see also the USPS holiday mailing FAQ). They’re recommendations, not guarantees, and they count from the date USPS first scans your parcel, not the date you print the label.

Sending to military APO/FPO/DPO addresses by Ground Advantage? The cut-off is Wednesday 4 November 2026. For First-Class and Priority Mail to military addresses it’s 9 December, and for Priority Mail Express Military it’s 16 December.
FedEx (for delivery by 24 December, per its 2026 last-day-to-ship schedule): Ground Economy 15 Dec, Ground and Home Delivery 17–23 Dec depending on transit time, Express Saver 21 Dec, 2Day 22 Dec, Overnight 23 Dec, SameDay 24 Dec. UPS: some shipping roundups list 3 Day Select on 21 Dec, 2nd Day Air on 22 Dec and Next Day Air on 23 Dec. We couldn’t confirm these on UPS’s own site, so check the UPS holiday schedule or ups.com/ctc before you rely on them.
UK, UAE and EU: if you’re posting from the US, use the USPS international dates above (9 December for most services). Royal Mail, Emirates Post and the European carriers publish their own dates. We haven’t confirmed those yet, so please check before you order.
For anything personalised, your real deadline is earlier: the carrier’s date, minus the time it takes to make, minus the time in transit.
Shipping from India to the US: duties
The US no longer lets parcels under $800 in duty-free. That exemption was suspended on 29 August 2025, CBP made the suspension indefinite on 24 June 2026, and new rules for mail took effect on 22 October 2026. India Post now collects US duty when the parcel is booked. We haven’t been able to confirm the current rate, so we won’t promise duty-free delivery. We’ll show the real cost before you pay.
Personalized gift tags and wrapping paper
Most gift guides stop at the gift itself. But a personalised present looks even better in personalised wrapping.
- Leather tags: punch a hole in a leather offcut and stamp or write the name on it. They can keep it as a keyring.
- Printed tags: shops like Vistaprint and Paper Source print custom tags. Allow time for them to arrive too.
- Name wrapping paper: Etsy sellers usually charge somewhere around $13–$32 a roll.
- Reusable wraps: a fabric wrap or a tote bag doubles as a second gift and creates no waste.
What happens next
Black Friday is 27 November and Cyber Monday is 30 November. The last USPS international dates are 9 December. Most US domestic cut-offs fall between 17 and 19 December. If you’re buying personalised gifts this year, order in November. We’re small on purpose, and every name is engraved by hand.
