If someone had told me a couple of years ago that I’d be designing tote bags, I’d have laughed.
Bags? Me? But here we are.
It started with my wife. She’s the kind of person who buys a bag every time we travel. Markets, malls, even random street stalls—she’d always find one she loved.
But love didn’t last long. The fabric was flimsy, straps broke too soon, space was never enough. And when she needed to carry my laptop along with her travel essentials, it was a mess.
Yeah! I travel with her, everywhere. And being in a remote role, I needed my laptop everywhere too.
One morning, I watched her try to stuff a laptop, charger, a book (because she never leaves without one), a water bottle, and a thousand other things into a bag that clearly wasn’t designed for that much weight.
She looked at me, half-joking, half-frustrated, and said, “I wish someone made a tote that didn’t give up on me every few weeks.”
Something clicked.
That’s how Toteaa was born—from a simple but persistent problem I saw every day. I wasn’t a designer. I didn’t have a background in fashion.
But I knew I wanted to build something that mattered. Something that solved a real issue. The journey wasn’t glamorous.
I worked on rough designs on my iPad of paper, hunted for the right fabrics (which was a disaster), and tested every sample to the point of breaking.
Trust me, we broke a lot of straps in the process. But every setback made the final product stronger.
Our tote bags with laptop compartments that had a waterproof lining were the first breakthrough.
Sturdy enough to carry everything, spacious enough to fit a laptop without making it look like you’re lugging half your house, and stylish enough to turn heads.
Toteaa isn’t just another brand for me. It’s personal. It’s about every woman who’s ever felt the frustration my wife did. It’s about making sure no one has to choose between style and function.
So, here we are. From frustration to fabric, from an idea to a tote that fits your life perfectly.
